After Action Reviews
The DASP plans, coordinates and facilitates after action reviews (AAR) for USAID/OFDA to understand lessons learned and improve the effectiveness of its future operations. Between 2003 and 2007, the DASP completed 13 AARs using a variety of methods and approaches including interviews, on-line surveys, and workshops. Given the abundance of after action data available, the DASP has also completed desk reviews of multiple after action recommendations to identify key issues and themes common across various responses. The AAR process is a monitoring tool that serves as the impetus for developing new systems and procedures and continual refinement of the core DART, RMT and FOG systems.
