Silviculture is the art and science of controlling the establishment, growth, composition, health and quality of forests and woodlands to meet the diverse needs and values of landowners and society on a sustainable basis.

  • Reforestation Partnerships

  • National Silviculture Workshop
    The Forest Service sponsors the National Silviculture Workshop, a biennial event, to review and discuss state-of-the-art silvicultural research and forestry management papers that demonstrate integrated restoration to yield multiple resource benefits.
