TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

Here are a few options for getting to Smithers:

  1. The most direct is a flight direct from Vancouver to Smithers.  This is a busy time of year for these flights because the conference is happening during peak steelhead fishing season.  Book early.
  2. Another possibility is to fly from Vancouver to Prince George then drive west (4 hrs) through the most awesome mountain pine beetle epidemic ever witnessed.
  3. Yet another possibility is to fly Vancouver to Terrace then drive (2.5 hrs) east through spectacular scenery following the Skeena and Bulkley rivers.
  4. Maybe even the train, VIA rail has passenger rail service to Smithers from Prince George or Prince Rupert. http://www.viarail.ca/en_index.html
  5. How about BC Ferries up the spectacular BC coastline then either drive or take the train from Prince Rupert.
  6. Air Canada - Air Canada is the only one that flies directly from Vancouver to Smithers
  7. Central Mountain Air - Central Mountain Air goes from Prince George to Smithers
  8. Westjet - Westjet goes from Vancouver to Prince George
  9. Richard Reich is able to provide a Forest Service Suburban to drive from Prince George to Smithers. For those interested
