Here you may obtain programs to translate, convert, and query data for use with FVS. Download data translators for forest plot and stand polygon information available from Forest Service sources.

USDA Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Data

We provide a National data translator to convert Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) data into an FVS input database.

• FIA2FVS (.exe, 02-01-2012, 13.2M) - the FIA2FVS Program is used to extract data fields from the FIADB (available on the FIA website) into a FVS ready database. You must have Administrator rights to install this software.

Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) Data

The FVS_DB_LINK utility builds Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS) data files for settings that have been loaded into FSVeg.

Blank FVS Database

You can directly load forest inventory information into an FVS database. We provide a blank database in Microsoft Access format with the necessary forms and tables to build the input FVS database from scratch.
