Conference Description
We have scheduled the fourth Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS) Conference for April 17-19, 2012 in Fort Collins, Colorado. The USDA Forest Service, Forest Management Service Center, has hosted the conference every five years since 1997.
The objective of the conference is to synthesize the knowledge gained from over thirty-five years of using FVS for project-level planning, landscape analysis, forest health assessments, forest plan revisions, inventory updates, habitat evaluation, and all other purposes. A second objective is to improve FVS modeling technology through sharing ideas and recent developments in software related to FVS, and to report on the calibration and validation of FVS and its components.
The conference will consist of two days of presentations from over 40 speakers. In addition, a third day of workshops will be conducted to expand your FVS knowledge. Please come and join us as we celebrate the work that has been done in FVS over the last five years and contemplate the work to come in the future.
