Release Notes for Version 1.18 of Suppose: N.L.Crookston RMRS-Moscow, Nov 1, 2004 Last revision of these notes: February 24, 2006 NOTE: Also see the release notes for version 1.17 that document some changes made to that version also done on Nov 1, 2004. 1. Added support for StandCN (Stand Control Number). This is a new identifier in addition to StandID that can optionally be present on a new record type in the .slf file. The new record type is called the E record and it contains just this identifier. When present, the StandCN keyword is generated by Suppose and placed near the top of the keywords for a stand. December 13, 2004: 2. Added the SALVSP keyword in FFE, which allows users to salvage snags by species. 3. Updated "Grep" command line associated with producing !run!.err error log file. 4.Added the FFE event monitor functions; PotFMort, which returns potential mortality, FuelMods, which returns fuels models used in fire behavior, SalvVol, which returns Salvaged volumes. In addiition the POTFLEN function was corrected. 5.Added the ThinMist keyword to the base model keywords, which allows users to thin by DMR code. December 23, 2004 6. Added new keywords to the Database Extension: FuelRept, MortRept, BurnRept, SnagSum, and SnagOut. 7. Added forest location codes that were missing from the Suppose pick lists. March 15, 2005 8. Created more options for the SNAGS function in the Event Monitor. 9. Added an two addional fields to the SIMFIRE keyword, field 5 allows users to turn off FFE mortality estimates and field 6 allows users to specify the percentage of the stand burned. 10. Created the CRUZFILE keyword which creates an input file for the National Cruise Program. March 31, 2005 11. Created the TREESZCP keyword which sets morphological limits for maximum tree diameter and height for a given species, and specifies a minimum mortality rate to be used when tree diameter exceeds the specified limit. 12. Removed the California Spotted Owl WHR post processor. The classification it used was out of date, instead if users need to classify CWHR they can use a KCP file which is posted on or web site. May 11, 2005 13. Code errors were corrected. Parenthesis() instead of brackets {} were used for Shortleaf pine and Table Mountain pine in the NE species. The spelling of "statistics" was corrected in the Calibration Statistics post processor. 14. Added the capability for suppose to create imperial or metric images of SVS (Don Robinson's work). Added a 6th field to the SVS keyword which enables user to ask for metric or imperial units. Also edited ppif.prm so that users could select either SVS (imperial) or SVS (metric), the additional PP was created because a different command line was needed to better draw the images in metric. June 14, 2005 15. Added the new keyword, THINRDEN, which thins the stand to a Relative Density target. 16. Twelve additional species were added to the species list in the SORNEC variant. June 21, 2005 15. Added the 4 varaibles that were missing from the Event Monitor list of predefined varaibles (STATE, COUNTY, LAT, LONG). 16. The Northeast Variant list of species common names was updated to be consistant with for the NE variant documentation. July 1, 2005 17. Added 4th option to field 8 of the SPMCDBH finction which allows users to calulate any of the attributes by live trees with mistletoe infection. 18. Added additional extensions that will work with the parrallel processor. 19.Corrected descrition of STDIDENT keyword to allow a 26 characters name, instead of a 8 character name. August 18, 2005 20. An additional option was added to field 6 of the FIXMORT keyword, if users enter a 3 in field 6 the mortality will be multiplied by the proprtion indicated in fireld 3 of the keyword. 21. New fueld models were added to the Fire and Fuels Extension. Four keywords were altered (MOISTURE, POTFMOIS, FUELMODL, and DEFULMOD), to implement this change. August 18, 2005 22. Added a new keyword called SpGroup, which allows users to define a group of species referenced under a single name that can be treated as a group in management actions or event monitor functions. 23. Added two new event monitor variables BRDEN (before thin Relative Density) and ARDEN (after thin Relative Density). 24. Added the the STRCLASS keyword to the database extension so users can now send the STRCLASS out directly to a database or excel. September 13, 2005 25. Added plant community codes for the LS variant, which will be used in LS-FFE. And added new FFE keywords POTFPAB and POTFSEAS. POTFPAB changes the percent of the stand that is burned. POTFSEAS changes the season that the burning occurs (only available in the LS varaint). 26.Edited the SPGROUP keyword. Field two is no longer required. FVS will automatically count the number of species the user selects. October 17, 2005 27.Made a correction to the list of species common names for teh NE, so that they match the common names in FVS. 28.Three FFE Management Actions were created in the Management Actions Window. 29. New keywords were created for the West Wide Pine Beetle (WWPB) extension. BMOUT allows users to request either or both the annual Landscape Average file and/or the Cycle output file. MAINOUT, TREEOUT, BKPOUT and VOLOUT were all added as new output keywords for the WWPB extension along with PPBMMAIN, PPBMTREE, PPBMBKP, PPBMVOL so users can get the output using the Database Extension. BMIN was added to the WWPB2 prefixes section, however this keyword is never seen accept in the output. 30.Added the DATASCRN keyword, which allows users to screen out input data from the simulations based on user-specified diameter limits. November 23, 2005 31. Changed the defaults of the POTFWIND and POTFTEMP keywords for the Lakes States variant. December 12, 2005 32. Added 3 new fields to the TCONDMLT keyword, which will allow users to weight the cutting priority based on a plot or points basal area, crown competition factor (ccf), or tpa. 33. Three new keywords were added which will allow users to thin point point or plot number. The POINTREF keyword allows users to specify if the point number referenced is from the inventory data or is the FVS sequence number. The SetPThin keyword sets the point number and the attribute to be thinned in for the ThinPt keyword. The ThinPt keyword this the point referenced in the ThinPt keyword to a residual target. 34. A ninth field has been added to the SPMCDBH function. The 9th field allows users to specify a point or plot number. SETPTTHIN and THINPT, added a field 9 to the SPMCDBH Function. February 24, 2006 35. Changed the verbage for the YARDLOSS keyword for the Eastern varaints. Changes the definition of SNAGFALL keyword and removed the last field of the keyword for the Region 6 varaints. 36. Added a fourth field to the DELOTAB keyword so that users could suppress the Activity Schedule table in the main output table. Added two additional keyword, ECHO and NOECHO. June 14, 2006 37. A correction was made to the Dwarf Mistletoe species list for the California variants, SP was listed as Shortleaf pine instead of Sugar pine. 38. Added the Northeast fire model to the list of extensions. In addition added a new SOILHEAT FFE keyword. 39. Added a 3rd field to the DEFECT keyword, giving users the option to ignore volume defect specified on the input tree record.
