Release Notes for Version 1.11 of Suppose: N.L.Crookston RMRS-Moscow, June 10, 1999 Last revision of these notes: October 1, 1999 Changes from version 1.10 to 1.11: 1. Modified the behavior of the "All Stands" button on the Select Simulation Stands Window. Now, if a location is selected, the All Stands button automatically places only stands from that location in the stand list (it used to place stands from all locations). And, if a group is selected, only stands that are members of that group are loaded. 2. The Set Time Scale window was modified to add a "Common cycle length" entry. Note that the Set Time Scale window needs to be further modified so that the cycle length and simulation length elements better interact. And, "cancel" does not always mean cancel. In some cases, changes made prior to the OK button are actually made to the simulation file. This can and should be fixed. 3. The Fire Model keywords were edited (again). 4. The species lists for the se and cr variants were updated. 5. Support for the new SVS keyword (causes .svs files to be directly generated by FVS) was added. Post processor items that used these files were added. 6. The run .bat and .sh files were modified to create subdirectories designed to hold the .svs files. 7. On AIX, the build was done using xlC version 3.6.4 rather than CSet. The system was created on AIX 4.3.1.0. 8. A new command line option was added so that the placement and size of the Suppose Task window can be controlled. This works on Windows only. See Help, Contents, Suppose Command Line Arguments (last item), and review the -startrect argument. August 19: 9. A bug was found in the Clearcut window. The keywords generated when "FVS computes the diameter of the "50th" percentile tree" were incorrect as they specified the "30th" percentile tree when the "50th" was desired. The keywords worked correctly for the "70th" and "90th". This has been fixed. 10. Removed support for the post processor to view the EchoSum file. Added the second supplemental record for the BFVolEqu and CFVolEqu keywords, and corrected the order of the second and third fields of these keywords. Modified descriptions for fields 1 and 3 of the Growth keyword. 11. Fixed several bugs related to editing existing Plant/Natural estab components. Several bugs were related to using the "Partial". These have been fixed. September 16: 12. Parms changes: RegDMult and RegHMult keywords fixed; changed several species alpha codesbitter cherry to CH, black cottonwood to CW, shasta red fir to SH, Brewer spruce to BR, blue oak to BL, walnut to WN, California laurel to CL, hawthorn to HT, blue ash to UA. Removed Cover as a valid extension list in variants: ak, ca, and cr. 13. Did a major overhaul to the Edit Simulation File window to provide for displaying the simulation file in a "tree" format. This is an extensive change of the edit facility. The help files were updated to document this change. September 28: 14. Added the ability to include lines that contain ! characters, where the character following the ! is not a number, can now be included in the answerForm and parmsForm entries (see the on line help appendix on the GPSB). The ability to specifiy !fvsbin! in answerForm and parmsForm has the added significance that it is replaced with the current value of -fvsbin from the command line (see the command line arguements section of on line help). Users the type !fvsbin! in prompt fields for keywords will find that that string is replaced with 15. The length of pStrings (see the description of the Suppose parameters file in the on line help) now is limited only to the size of an unsigned int on your computer (likely over 32K). Several fixed buffer sizes now dynamically change as needed. Oct 1: 16. Added support for an uneven mgmt keyword set proposed by Don Vandendriesche.
