Release Notes for Version 1.09 of Suppose: N.L.Crookston RMRS-Moscow, July 23, 1998 Last revision of these notes: September 23, 1998 Changes from version 1.08 to 1.09: (Note: Version 1.08 changes were very extensive, I recommend that you read those release notes as well as these.) 1. Changed AddKeys (it is not an FVS keyword) to AddFile (it is an FVS keyword) in the parms files. 2. Modified the report/graph generator feature to add the ability to compute weighted averages of variables. Class-type variables are reported as the proportion of the sampling weight at each class level. The help files have been updated to explain this feature. This change included a slightly modified "Read FVS Output" window that will allow, in a future release, reading other file types besides the standard FVS output (the treelist, for example). This window also now include an "Average" button. Windows that control reading FVS output and creating averages can now be accessed from the "Extras" menu. Several other minor changes were made with the objective of making the terminology more consistent and easier to understand. 3. Changed the Edit SLF file logic so that multiple C and D records are correctly processed. 4. Updated the Report Generator to correctly parse the newer fire model Potential Flame Report. 5. The fire model does not support Comment...so comments are not written when they are attached to fire model components. ========== Changes after July 30, 1998 6. The report name of Fuels was misspelled Fules. 7. The weighted average window did not update correctly report cases were deleted (worked ok when cases were added). 8. Suppose keeps track of the "current" directory so that if you open a file in a different directory, the program will switch you back to the original current directory. This behavior has been changed. Now, if you open a keyword file and Suppose reads it successfully, the "current" directory is set to the directory from which the keyword file was read. Furthermore, when Suppose does not find a "suppose.loc" file in the current directory, it will either create one or prompt the user to open one that already exists. If the user specifies one, the "current" directory is changed to the directory from which suppose.loc was read. The result of either action (specifically opening a keyword file with the Open menu item of the File menu, or opening a Suppose locations file) will result in the current directory being change and therefore all the other input, output, and simulation files will be saved in the directory where which the file was opened. 9. There was an error in the variant locking logic. Now, once a variant is picked and the runstream is built, the variant is locked on the chosen variant. ========== Changes after September 2, 1998 10. Refer to #8 above. When a keyword file name is on the command line, Suppose now checks to see if a path name is present. It is is present, the program changes the working directory to the directory from which the keyword file came. 11. The File menu was changed. It is now exactly the same on all unix and Win95 and it only contains items that Suppose uses. 12. A new menu item was added to the file menu called "Open Location File". This option allows users to specify the locations file they want to use. Note that the working directory is automatically changed to the directory in which the locations file resides. 13. The Close keyword as been added the keyword list (it was left out) and the Open keyword support was changed to correctly open files. ========== Changes after September 18, 1998 14. A small, but significant, change was made to correct an error in how Suppose builds the SpMcDBH function for the Event Monitor. 15. Support for the new ca (Inland CA, Southern Cascades) variant has been added to the parms file (thanks to Mike Vandyck). ========== Changes on October 14, 1998 16. Standardized alpha species codes for LS (Lake States), CS (Central States), NE (Northeast), SE (Southeast) variants. Made a few more changes to ppif.prm
