Release Notes for Version 1.05 of Suppose: N.L.Crookston RMRS-Moscow, November 20, 1997 Changes from version 1.04 to 1.05: 1. The Condition window was modified to allow direct access to the Expression Editor via a "FreeForm" button. This can be used even when no condition has been selected. It is the same as using the "Edit Logical Expression" menu item. 2. The Condition window now allows users to select from a set of conditions stored in a .kcp file. If Suppose can open file condlib.kcp, it loads a list box with the components found in the file that are condition-components and allows the user to select one for the condition. 3. Fixed a minor bug that kept Suppose from reading .kcp files that contain components that were loaded from .kcp files, saved, and then read again. 4. SeedTree and Shelterwood were incorrectly computing residuals and the cutting efficiency parameter was blocking residuals from being reached. These errors were fixed. Also, the ability to thin to a residual SDI is not yet a reality in FVS, but was being allowed in Suppose. This has been changed in the SeedTree and Shelterwood mgmt options. 5. Added the canopy percent cover variable to the Event Monitor SpMcDBH function. Added SStage EM variables. 6. Updated the help files for all changes listed. Also expanded the tutorial Tasks 1 and 2 to include using the Generate Graphs facility. Made many additional edits to the help files. 7. Added report scanning logic for the Fire and Fuels Extension...but for only the "Potential Flame" and "All Fuels" reports. 8. Modified the Edit Simulation Window to allow users to either Write or Append data to .kcp files. Update: Dec 8, 1997 9. Fixed the use of the Accept command when the user types in the keyword but does not use the Return key in Use FVS keywords. 10. Changed the default waiting period for events to 0. years from 50. 11. Modified the Post Processor commands to start the "editor" on each post processor-generated output file. Now, selecting the Post Proc implies looking at the output it generates using the "editor". 12. Modified the "editor" commands of Unix so that the "editor" runs as a background job. Now, when you are viewing more than one output from a given run, all the edit windows will open at once rather than a second one opening after the first one closes, and so on. 13. Fixed the Read FVS output logic to correctly scan the Summary Statistics table for the eastern variants. Fixed the case where a variable has all "null" observations (strange case, but it happens). Fixed the "year" observation identifications for the Fire Model output scans. 14. Made yet more edits to the help files. 15. Changed the Tutorial data sets so that forest 104 (Idaho Pan Handle) is used rather than the Colville. This was done because the ni variant now interprets the habitat field as a plant association when the forest code is a region 6 forest. Made the same change in the test data sets.
