Several opportunities are still available for training on the new FFI software, which is a newly-developed software program that stores and manages inventory and monitoring data.
Two workshops remain for spring, 2008. The next workshop will be held in Missoula on May 20-23, 2008. The second workshop is planned for Ashville, NC, on June 3-6, 2008. Both workshops will feature a field session that participants can register for separately.
Other opportunities to learn about features of the FFI software include on-line demonstrations that are being held each week in March, April and May via WebEx conference calls. The WebEx topics include a general overview of the program, data entry for FEAT users, data entry for new and FIREMON users, PDA use, GIS integration, and how to use the Query Builder. To date, 128 callers have participated in the first four on-line presentations. Individuals representing the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, The Nature Conservancy, U.S. Geological Survey, Texas A&M University and National Parks Australia have all learned about FFI features using these on-line demonstrations.
For more information on the upcoming workshops or on-line demonstrations, see the FFI Website. Contact Duncan Lutes to register for either of these training opportunities.
