Technical Information Specialist/Ecologist
Kris is an editor and writer for the Fire Effects Information System. Kris specializes in synthesizing information from the scientific literature on fire and nonnative invasive species for use by managers and the public. She edited and contributed to Volume 6 in the “Wildland Fire in Ecosystems” (Rainbow) series: “Fire and Nonnative Invasive Plants.” Kris mapped terrestrial ecosystems (soils and plant communities) in the Southwest and studied fire effects on soil nitrogen dynamics in ponderosa pine stands in western Montana. She has a B.S. in Soil Science and a B.A. in Psychology from New Mexico State University, and an M.S. in Resource Conservation from the University of Montana.
