FireWords is an annotated, illustrated glossary of wildland fire science terminology. The initial release of FireWords (1.0.2, March 2008) contains 277 terms, but that number is expected to grow as more technical terms are added to the glossary. The glossary can be downloaded to a local computer, which is recommended for speedy access, or it can be accessed from the internet. Neither format is designed to be printed.
The downloadable version is a compiled help file (CHM) for computers running Microsoft Windows. Download the CHM file to any place on your local hard drive. To download the file, click on the link below and choose save OR right-click on the link below and choose “Save Link As …” or “Save Target As…”, then choose a place on your computer to save the file. If you are not able to see the content of the CHM file, go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902225/ for assistance. Method 2 on this site is usually the best option.
