2010 Smokey Bear Award Nominations Now Open

In the world of wildfire prevention there is no greater honor than to receive the Golden Smokey Bear Award. This awards program is sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service, the National Association of State Foresters, and the Advertising Council.

Honorees must exceed the expectations of their jobs and demonstrate innovation, creativity, commitment, and passion for fire prevention. A maximum of three Golden Smokey Awards are presented each year.

The Gold award is the highest honor given for fire prevention service Smokey Bear Awards, gold, silver, and bronzethat is national in scope over a minimum two-year period. A maximum of three awards may be given in any year.

The Silver award is the highest honor given for fire prevention service that is regional in scope over a minimum two-year period. A maximum of five awards may be given in any year.

The Bronze award is the highest honor given for service having impact within a state over a minimum two-year period. A maximum of ten awards may be given in any year.
