Redmond Smokejumpers - Redmond Air Center



	Redmond Air Center The Redmond Air Center (RAC) is at Robert's Field Airport about two miles east of Redmond, Oregon (population 12,000+, elevation 3077 feet). Hosted by the Deschutes National Forest, RAC is about 30 minutes driving time from the Central Oregon communities of Bend, Sisters, and Prineville. RAC is the hub of aerial firefighting and fire training activities in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the smokejumper unit, the center includes a regional aviation group, a regional fire cache, an airtanker base, and the Redmond Hotshots -- an interagency Type I training crew.
