The ZigZag Interagency Hotshot Crew is always looking for extremely fit,
highly motivated, quality individuals to join the crew every season. Competition
is steep. We receive anywhere from 50-100+ applications EVERY YEAR for a
handful of positions. Two to three seasons of experience as a wildland firefighter
is generally recommended as a minimum to be considered as a viable candidate.
Individuals with little or no experience possessing skill in teamwork, personal
motivation and an amazing amount of potential are also encouraged to apply.
The question you must ask yourself is: “What can I bring to the crew
to strengthen their already strong program?” Aside from being extremely
physically fit, socially compatible and having immaculate references from
your previous employers, other skills we look at include (but are not limited
to) past experience as a member of a team, chainsaw experience, helitack
qualifications, Emergency Medical Technician certifications, past training
and current ICS qualifications.
Applicants are not only encouraged to have
their resume into the application process by the 1st of January but we
also strongly suggest that you contact us directly during the month of
January or early February for an informal interview which can be accomplished
either in person or over the phone. Additional information will be given
to you at that time concerning our selection process and your ability
to compete with other candidates.

process or if you would just like to talk about the crew, you may contact
