Location and Accommodations

Silver City is a vibrant community in Grant County, located in southwestern New Mexico, nestled alongside more than 3 million acres of the Gila Wilderness. With historic ties to mining, ranching and agriculture, our community has grown into a modern town with friendly people, growing businesses and a terrific year-round climate.

Housing

The Silver City Hotshot barracks is located at the Ft. Bayard Administrative site, on the edge of the Gila National Forest, Silver City Ranger District. This serves as the base of operations for the Silver City IHC. The barracks consists of living quarters for approximately 15 seasonal employees, kitchen facilities and a communal area.
