Temporary Employment Application Information: There are several links and web sites that you should visit to obtain additional information and submit an online resume or application, those are listed below. You will need to complete an online resume through AVUE digital services to a specific “announcement number”. There are several national open continuous announcement numbers. If you are interested in employment with a hotshot crew at the GS-05 level you will need to apply to the “Hotshot/Hand crew” announcement. If you are interested in employment with a hotshot crew at the GS-04 level you will need to apply to the “Hotshot/Hand crew” announcement. If you are applying at the GS-03 level there is no specific “Hotshot/Hand crew” announcement only the “Forestry Aid (Fire)”. The series you will need to look for is Forestry Aid/Technician 0462. Additionally, we work as General Schedule or “GS” employees. When you are applying through AVUE digital services you will need to specify you duty station. The Santa Fe Hotshots are based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
