Sacramento Interagency Hotshot Crew

The Sacramento Hotshots are based on the Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico. The Sacramento IHC are multi-skilled professional wildland firefighters specifically trained, organized, and equipped for rapid response to wildfire situations.

Being a Sacramento Hotshot takes a lot of drive, initiative, and physical conditioning, as well as a sense of humor and ability to work with a diverse group of men and women who literally live with each other during the season.

Our specialty is wildfire suppression, but we are sometimes assigned other jobs, including search and rescue and disaster response assistance. When we are not busy fighting fire we will also work to meet resource goals on their home units through thinning, prescribed fire implementation, habitat improvement or trail construction projects.
