Elk Mountain Interagency Hotshots

Elk Mountain Hotshots are a 20-person, Type 1 Interagency fire crew with the U.S. Forest Service located on the Mendocino National Forest in Upper Lake, California.

The crew consists of 15 permanent fire positions, including one Superintendent, two Captains, two Squad Leaders, four Senior Firefighters, 6 Apprentices and 5 temporary firefighters hired each season. Available from May till November the crew travels throughout California, and the Western United States fighting wildland fires.
