The Mormon Lake Engines are based out of the
Mormon Lake Ranger District on the Coconino National Forest, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Mormon Lake RD staffs one type 3 engine, two type 6 engines, one type 2 water tender, one type 2 dozer, one 5 person fuels crew and one type 1 IHC.

Fire season typically starts mid April and runs through mid October depending on weather. Engine crew members generally work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Crew members may be required to work overtime days for staffing reasons and are on an on call basis 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
