Welcome to the Mormon Lake Engine's website.


The Mormon Lake Engines are based out of the
Mormon Lake Ranger District on the Coconino National Forest, in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Mormon Lake RD staffs one type 3 engine, two type 6 engines, one type 2 water tender, one type 2 dozer, one 5 person fuels crew and one type 1 IHC.

Fire season typically starts mid April and runs through mid October depending on weather. Engine crew members generally work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Crew members may be required to work overtime days for staffing reasons and are on an on call basis 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
