In May of 2009 we were notified that the Fire Equipment Shop had found us a chassis in Wichita, Kansas. Upon receiving the chasis we found it to be a 2000 Ford F-350 Extra Super duty, extended cab. It has a V-10 Engine in good mechanical shape but needed some body work. We had our local body shop paint the body RED and the frame black. The total cost of the truck minus the equipment came to $9,729.12. Our share was 25%. The remaining came from the Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) grant program.

The truck was also equipped with firefighting equipment from grants we had received from the Department of the Interior Rural Fire Assistance Application (RFA) grant for $9.4010.00, and the Volunteer Fire Department Assistance grant (VFA) for $2,560.00. The Type 6 Engine is equipped with all necessary equipment to meet NWCG standards. "We a proud of our new truck and want to make a special thanks to Jim Burk for all the hard work he did to make this happen. And to all the other people behind the scenes that help make our fire service a great occupation to be in."
