The New London Volunteer Fire Department, in New London Missouri, Received a 1985 Military M927 5ton 6x6 with diesel engine, power steering and automatic transmission.

We removed the cargo bed and installed a 2400 gallon SS tank body, also from FEPP. This truck was then painted red and equipped with an 11hp 4 inch water pump and plumbed for intake and discharge hoses, emergency lighting and 2way radio.
The fire departments total cost for this conversion was $700.00, had the department been required to purchase a similar truck the cost could have reached $90,000.00. This truck will serve the department for many years to come and could not have been possible without the Missouri Department of Conservation, the FEPP Program and the work of the Missouri Department of Conservation employees: John Lindesmith, Rick Strong and Randy Hulse.
