This blue beauty was refurbished by Blue Township, KS. It is a 1983 Spartan which was delivered to Blue Twp. Fire Dept. 10/26/99. They put it into service 2/4/2000. In their own words:
"After patching rust holes, installing all emergency lights and sirens, equipping it with all hose, ladders and loose equipment, re-upholstering seats, painting interior and exterior, replacing missing plumbing parts, adding extensions to hose bed and a dunnage bin over the pump, adding chrome wheel covers, having detailed engine maintenance performed, adding cab steps and custom graphics, and replacing a defective inverter with a good generator, at an approximate cost to the department of $15,000, we now have and engine which probably carries a market value in this condition of about $80,000 as equipped and would cost over $200,000 to buy new."
