Track: (Training Workshop)

This workshop is intended for audiences interested in exploring how to incorporate more effective collaboration into environmental planning processes that are conducted by federal agencies, as required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Participants will practice assessing the opportunities for and feasibility of collaboration during the NEPA process and then focus on developing an integrated design for incorporating collaboration opportunities into the various steps of the NEPA process. The workshop is based on the new handbook for NEPA practitioners, Collaboration in NEPA, recently issued by the Council on Environmental Quality.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Develop basic skills for assessing whether, with whom, when, and how to collaborate with others on NEPA.
  2. Develop basic skills for approaching how to design collaboration into the NEPA process.
  3. Become familiar with CEQ’s new “Collaboration in NEPA” Handbook.
