Track: Evaluating ECR: What’s in it for me?

Description:
This interactive session involves participants in Mental Models research that seeks to identify differences in how various stakeholders think about controversy and make decisions about public participation in contexts of technical complexity and scientific uncertainty. Participants are presented with Mental Model(s) of Public Participation informed by Superfund- related research and within a Charrette process, offer their own conceptual understandings of public participation and decision making. Participants will contribute to the development of a comprehensive mental model to be further developed and tested. Applications of mental models research to enhance public participation programs and processes will be discussed.
