GOVERNMENT FREEWARE: This toolbox was written by David Hatfield, an enterprise employee within the USDA Forest Service. It is distributed "as is" and is not supported or maintained. INSTALL: Unzip the file into C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\ESRI\ArcToolbox\My Toolboxes (or into some other directory of your choice.) This will create a new toolbox (named DV Data Management Tools) in My Toolboxes. It also creates a scripts directory (named DV Data Management Scripts) in My Toolboxes. The scripts directory contains the python scripts \ and associated files necessary to run the tools. If the toolbox has previously been installed, then overwrite the existing files. RUN FROM ArcCatalog: Once you've unzipped the file, then the new DV Data Management Tools toolbox will show up in ArcCatalog. On the ArcCatalog tree, click on Toolboxes, My Toolboxes, DV Data Management Tools. This will display all of the tools. Double click on a tool to open the form to run the tool. When the form is open, click on [Show Help >>] to display help on the right side of the form (or click on [<< Hide Help] to close the help frame.) When you click on a parameter in the form, the help for this parameter will be displayed in the help frame. If you want to see the entire help file, click on [?Help] above the help frame. RUN FROM ArcToolbox (in ArcMap): You can add the DV Data Management Tools toolbox to ArcToolbox by opening ArcToolbox, right clicking on the main ArcToolbox folder, selecting Add Toolbox..., and navigating to C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\ESRI\ArcToolbox\My Toolboxes and selecting DV Data Management Tools. Now the tools can be run from ArcMap as well as ArcCatalog. Let me know if you have questions, or suggestions. David Hatfield, Original Developer.
