The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Program promotes the employment; advancement and retention of persons with differing gender identity and gender expression in the USDA Forest Service. The LGBT Speical Emphasis Program's initial goal is to increase awareness among FS employees about the LGBT program. Forest Service’s goal is to implement an inclusive environment in which all employees are respected and valued, resulting in a more enriching work experience. The LGBT Program serves as a resource to assist managers in identifying and resolving employment, retention, and work environment issues effecting LGBT employees in the Agency and USDA.
