Late Night or Sunday Arrival into Logan, Utah

If you are arriving late at night (or on a Sunday) and staying at the University Inn there are a number of options for a late evening meal or snack.

1. Bring food with you from home.

2. Get food at the airport before going to the luggage area. The Airport hosts Burger King, TCBY, Mrs. Fields, Starbucks and a few sandwich shops (depending on at which ramp you land).

3. Walk to nearby restaurants such as:

  • Fredrico's Pizza 1349 East 700 North (10 minute walk)
  • Angie's 690 North Main (20 minute walk down hill)
  • Grocery stores 100 East 400 North (20 minute walk down hill) If you can walk to the groceries stores you are also near a host of restaurants - Mardarin Garden, Subway Sandwich, JB's, Einstein's Bagels, Zuka Juice, and others. Look in phone book for other options or ask the front desk. This is a pretty safe town to walk in.
  • Check with the front desk about the free city bus system (hours and route maps).

4. Have food delivered to the hotel. Various options include:

  • Wok on Wheels (sometimes deliver on Sunday)
  • Dominoes
  • Factory Pizza (Pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc)
  • Pizza Hut
  • Pony Express (Pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc)
  • Papa Kelsey & Henry's (Pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc.)
  • Kentucky Fried Chicken

5. Call a cab and ensure they will pick you up after 8:00 pm

6. Call other participants in the workshop (see if they drove) - maybe they will go out for food with you.

7. Ask the limo driver if you can stop for food before going to the University Inn. The drivers are usually game for anything (especially for a tip and if you are the last one on the shuttle. No guarantee though).

  • El Toro Viejo Mexican Restaurant, 1079 North Main, Logan
  • Glauser's, 25 West Center, Logan (Greasy Spoon - pretty good home cooking; Great Sunday brunch)
  • Korea House, 111 South Main, Logan

A good deal is The Old Grist Mill, which gives out free slices of bread (if you really want to stretch your meal money). Its across the street from Albertsons, next door to Hastings (400N & 100E). They sell loaves of wonderful bread, huge cinnamon rolls, cookies and deli sandwiches. The grocery stores have free samples out frequently too - Albertsons is the best bet. Have fun!

Bars

  • The White Owl, 36 West Center, Logan - has "pub food" in non-smoking back room. Nicer than you'd suspect.
  • Sultan's Tavern, 205 South Main, Logan
  • Hawn's Lounge, 84 West Main, Hyrum
  • Tattles Bar & Grill, West Oneida Preston, ID
  • Mulligans Social Club, 33 Federal Avenue, Logan
  • Benoes Place, 97 East 1400 North, Logan (Pine Crest Mall)
