The Wildlife, Fish, and Rare Plants staff is currently accepting nominations for the FY 2009 Continuing Education Program for Natural Resource Professionals (CE-WFW).  The CE-WFW is celebrating 22 years of providing valuable, interdisciplinary education for a broad array of natural resource disciplines.  Over 3,100 professionals have participated in one or more workshops since 1987.  We look forward to continuing this interdisciplinary tradition and are working to integrate with other training opportunities.
We invite all natural resource professionals to review the selection of workshops.  Many workshops are applicable to a variety of disciplines, including biologists, botanists, line officers, and other natural resource professionals with fish, wildlife, and botanical responsibilities and interactions.  The CE-WFW web site (www.fs.fed.us/biology/education) provides detailed information on workshop content and travel.  Hard copies of the FY 2009 brochures will also be mailed to the Forests, Districts, and line officers.
Each forest should provide a prioritized list of nominees for each course, including name, email address, postal mailing address, and phone number to Ernest Taylor on my staff by Friday, August 15, 2008.  Selections will be submitted to the WO on or before August 29, 2008.  Individuals selected will have tuition and travel paid from the RO job code; salary is paid by the individual's home unit.   
If you attended a class in FY 2008 using RO funding, please ensure that you have notified Ernest Taylor of total tuition and travel costs in order to be considered for any FY 2009 class.
