Claire O'Dea
I received my AB in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University in June 2001 and my MS and PhD in Ecology from Duke University in 2007 and 2010. My research focused on vegetation community patterns in freshwater wetlands, sandplain grasslands, and maritime shrubland habitats, all on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. I also spent two years as an environmental consultant, assisting EPA with proposing sites to the National Priorities List for cleanup under the Superfund Program. I received a Presidential Management Fellowship in 2011 and spent two years working for the Forest Service Washington Office, split between the NFS Air Program and R&D focusing on the development and implementation of critical loads of air pollution. I am now the Air Quality Specialist for the Southern Tier forests of Region 9: Monongahela, Wayne, Hoosier, Shawnee, Mark Twain, and Midewin Tallgrass Prairie.
